Employers are less likely to employ Muslims?

Research at the University of Davenport by Murad Ali indicates that Muslims are less susceptible to all other ethnic groups to be appointed by the employers. Participants were students enrolled in MBA or undergraduate courses either. The type of work full-time students taking part in, ranging from entry level to senior management. Most MBA students are already hiring managers and was on the power within their companies.

Participants ranked their candidates for the positions required in terms of their own preconceived ideas of 1-5. And the order of 1 means that the demand was more desirable, and a rating of 5 means that the applicant is desirable. Was sentenced on all qualified candidates on an equal footing and they were all men. The only difference between the candidates by name. And used Robert Schwalbach (white), Tyrone Johnson (black), Yan Chen (Asia), and Pedro Gonzalez (Latin), and Ahmed Al-Arabi (Muslim) to represent different races and ethnicities.

Results of the study indicated that the following order of preference as follows African-American, Caucasian, Asian, Hispanic and Muslim. The African Americans are more likely to be recalled to work while the Muslims were the least. Data were divided into two groups with similar African Americans, Caucasians and Asians in the far left with Latinos and Muslims in the far right. The data came that refer to the history of the participants were not collected.

It is interesting to note that people who are considered "mainstream" or was in the country for some time was very similar in their order. Hispanic and Muslims who consider that the new immigrants class and less likely to employ. In essence this means that immigrants are not considered to have the same opportunity for employers that "the American mainstream." It is therefore possible that poverty, unemployment and lack of health care may be something imposed on this group by personal choice.

And that employers should be aware of the results of this study because it has an impact on their compliance with the law on civil rights. Muslims can become more aware of their rights in the workplace, employers have more trials for the treatment. If hiring managers allow their personal preferences to determine who will be involved, rather than the most qualified, may be affected and a summary of the company.
